Antipas was martyred in front of his Congregation for refusing to deny the Lord Jesus Christ.
Antipas, whose name means "against all," was advised that "The whole world is against you!" for believing in and following the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God; refusing to worship the Emperor as "god"; as a result he was sentenced to be martyred. His response was, "Then, I am against the whole world!" Antipas refused to deny the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth as his Lord, God, and Savior.
